Can I Run God Simulator?

Maxim Karpenko released God Simulator in 2021. It is an indie simulation game, self published by the studio. The game supports a single player campaign. Steam Workshop support means community content is part of the picture, and a heavy mod load can push the real requirements past anything the publisher lists. It is not Windows only, with macOS and Linux covered too. With more than 49 thousand player reviews on Steam, its behaviour on real hardware is well documented. Progress follows the account through Steam Cloud rather than sitting on one disk. At 5 years old it targets an older hardware baseline than most buyers now own. 27 languages are covered by the store listing. Completionists have 54 achievements to work through.

Setting and environment

Players spend their time in an open sandbox, moving through a settlement the player grows. The load here grows with the save. An empty map tells you very little about how the machine will cope once the build is large. 15 storefront images show what the game actually looks like in motion.

Why God Simulator is demanding

Disk footprint is light, near 0 GB. System memory expectations are modest at 4 GB. At 0.25 GB, VRAM is a non issue for God Simulator. The DirectX requirement is undemanding, at version 9.0.
