Can I Run Far Cry?
Released in 2014, Far Cry is an action adventure game built by Ubisoft Montreal, Red Storm, Shanghai, Toronto, Kiev. Publishing duties went to Ubisoft. It offers a single player campaign and cooperative play. Its Steam review count passes 66 thousand, a large enough sample that odd hardware behaviour would be known by now. It is a Windows title, so the requirements below are the Windows ones. It is localised into 18 languages according to the store listing. Steam gates it behind an age check at 17. Its Metacritic score stands at 80. A pad covers most of the game, though parts of it still expect a keyboard. There are 57 achievements to chase. It is old enough that no current GPU generation existed when it shipped, so modern hardware tends to be far past what it can use.

Setting and environment
Players spend their time in an open sandbox, moving through one continuous open world. The view is from a first person view. Open environments are the harder case for a PC, and Far Cry has to keep far more of its world resident and streaming than a level based game needs. 5 storefront images show what the game actually looks like in motion.
Why Far Cry is demanding
Video memory is not the constraint here, at 2 GB. A 64 bit version of Windows is required. Far Cry takes about 30 GB of disk space. Far Cry needs only 8 GB of RAM.
This reading comes from the published requirements and our own benchmark tables, not from the store listing.
Can you run Far Cry?
Far Cry targets a mainstream modern PC: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 or AMD Radeon HD5850 (1 GB VRAM) and 4 GB of RAM for the minimum, stepping up to NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 or AMD Radeon R9 290X or better (2 GB VRAM) for the recommended experience. No single part dominates the requirements, so a balanced mid-range build clears it.
