Can I Run Codex of Victory?

Codex of Victory is an indie strategy game from Ino-Co Plus, released in 2017. AKPublish pty ltd published it. It offers a single player campaign and competitive multiplayer. Completionists have 30 achievements to work through. Alongside Windows it also ships for macOS and Linux. Steam lists support for 7 languages. Cloud saves are enabled. Being 9 years old, it was built for the hardware of its day, so a current machine usually has headroom over the published figures. Full controller support is present, so nothing needs configuring before a pad works. It carries 260 Steam reviews, a small sample, so first hand performance reports are thin.

Setting and environment

The game is set in a science fiction setting. Play is structured around a base the player builds up. 14 storefront images show what the game actually looks like in motion. Play is presented in three dimensions. The load here grows with the save. An empty map tells you very little about how the machine will cope once the build is large.

Why Codex of Victory is demanding

It targets DirectX 10, an older feature level that almost anything still running will satisfy. Codex of Victory needs only 4 GB of RAM. Video memory is not the constraint here, at 1 GB. Disk footprint is light, near 2 GB.
